Alpha Estate

Greece

Alpha Estate is a privately owned winery founded in 1997 in Amyndeon, northwest Greece, by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and chemist-oenologist Angelos Iatridis. Its 220 hectares of vineyards, situated at 620–710 meters altitude on a plateau within a NATURA protected area, are cultivated with a quality-focused philosophy, maintaining intentionally low yields. The estate employs sustainable practices, including no herbicides, sub-soil irrigation controlled by underground sensors, and gravity-flow technology. It also utilizes advanced tools like satellite imaging and weather stations. Beyond its own vineyards, Alpha Estate supports local growers through a partnership managing 85 hectares, reflecting a commitment to social impact and regional development.
