Valdecuevas is a third-generation family winery in Rueda, Valladolid, with its own vineyards in the heart of the D.O. Rueda. Its plots, including older vines on stony, alluvial soils, are shaped by a continental climate with hot, dry summers and marked day-night temperature contrasts. Sustainability is central to the Martín family’s approach, with practices including drip irrigation, natural fertilizers, water reuse, lighter bottles, and photovoltaic energy. Under enologist Antonio Nieto, the winery combines local Verdejo knowledge with modern technology and careful cellar work: cold maceration, gentle pressing, slow low-temperature fermentation, and lees ageing. The resulting wines aim to express the Castilian terroir through concentrated yet fresh, structured styles, alongside a younger and more carefree Flor Innata range.
