Señorío de Barahonda

Barahonda is a fourth-generation family winery in Yecla, Murcia, founded by the Candela family in 1925 and today led by Antonio and Alfredo Candela. Working with estate-owned vineyards in the Yecla DO, the winery farms organically, with dry-farmed, non-irrigated vines on calcareous soils, and produces vegan-certified wines. Barahonda emphasizes close attention to the vineyard cycle and estate bottling from its own grapes. Its wines are described as structured, expressive, deeply colored, and characterful, with Monastrell central to the estate’s identity. Winemaking is led by Agustín Carrión and Araceli González Martínez. Alongside its strong connection to Yecla and its landscape, Barahonda also highlights sustainability, environmental management, and an ongoing commitment to research and innovation in viticulture and winemaking.
