São Lourenço is a family-founded estate in Beira, now part of the IDEALDRINKS group and a flagship property of Fladgate Family Wines. Its high-density, dry-farmed vineyards lie on a distinctive calcareous fault with limestone and clay soils, and are managed with a strong focus on terroir, soil health and sustainability. Biosphere Certified, the estate has implemented water-conservation, recycling, reduced-plastic and renewable-energy initiatives. A modern gravity-flow winery supports the production of still wines such as Principal and Calcário3 do Principal, alongside Colinas traditional-method sparkling wines. French enologist Pascal Chatonnet has been the principal winemaking consultant since 2004.
