Founded in 1908 by Pietro Materossi, Monte Cicogna is a generations-run estate in an historic farmhouse on the edge of Moniga del Garda, in Lombardy’s Valtenesi. Its vineyards in Moniga del Garda and San Rocco di Lugana benefit from Lake Garda’s Mediterranean microclimate, with morainic calcareous-clayey soils and white clay in Lugana. Individual parcels are matched to different wines, including Groppello, Riviera, Chiaretto, Riesling Renano, Santa Caterina and Imperiale. The estate also cultivates olive groves and welcomes visitors for guided tours and tastings. Its wines are presented as expressions of the varied soils and landscapes surrounding the lake, with a longstanding focus on quality and regional character.
