Clos Thou

France

Clos Thou is an independent Jurançon producer in the Pyrenean foothills, associated with the Java Sud Ouest group of friends and winemakers who share expertise while retaining individual approaches. The estate is certified organic and follows paysanne, traditional farming on steep Jurançon hillsides, with natural treatments and amendments. Its vineyards are planted to typical local varieties including Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu, Gros Courbu and Camaralet, on Jurançon puddingstone soils. Manual harvesting takes place through successive selections from October into late autumn, allowing passerillage and flétri on the vine. Clos Thou makes dry whites, moelleux and late-harvest wines, combining traditional methods with a focus on expressing its preserved terroir.
