Salentein is a Mendoza producer in the Uco Valley, founded in 1996 and owned by Dutch entrepreneur Mijndert Pon. Its vineyards are planted at high altitude, between about 1,050 and 1,700 metres across several microclimates, shaping a broad range of wines. Winemaking is directed by José Galante, a key figure in modern Argentine wine. The cellar is notable for its underground design, with French oak barrels stored nine metres below ground in naturally stable conditions. Sustainability efforts include preserving more than 49 hectares of native desert habitat on the property. Salentein also extends beyond wine through the Killka cultural centre, linking the estate with art, cuisine and tourism.
