Michael Hall Wines

Australia

Michael Hall is a South Australian micro-negociant established in 2008, producing individual, single-vineyard wines from the Barossa Valley, Eden Valley and Adelaide Hills, along with the Sang de Pigeon second label. Sole proprietor Michael Hall works with carefully selected growers and focuses on terroir, sustainability and meticulous detail. Fruit is hand-picked, with routine chemical sprays avoided where possible, and wines are made with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. They are generally unfined and lightly filtered or unfiltered, with restrained oak and extended lees or barrel maturation where appropriate. The range includes elegant, site-expressive Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Roussanne and other varieties. The winery operates from a heritage-listed 1860s barn in the Langmeil pioneer settlement, where Hall’s nuanced, food-oriented approach is supported by winemaker Phillip Lord.
