Weingut Dr. Crusius is a family estate in Traisen, Nahe, with roots dating to 1576 and historic buildings established in 1888. Now led by Rebecca Crusius, it focuses on wines with origin, from Gutswein through VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS and VDP.GROSSE LAGE. The estate’s vineyards include distinctive volcanic and slate sites such as Traiser Rotenfels, Traiser Bastei, Norheimer Kirschheck, KUPFERGRUBE and Schlossböckelheimer FELSENBERG, producing particularly Rieslings marked by mineral character, fine spice and elegance. Grapes are harvested by hand with a small team of experienced pickers. In the cellar, the approach is gentle and flexible, using both spontaneous and cultured-yeast fermentations while leaving room for experimentation.
