Château Barouillet

France

Château Barouillet is an eight-generation family estate in France’s Sud-Ouest, now run and made by Vincent Alexis, who joined his father in 2010. Its vineyards in Mescoules, Pécharmant and Pomport are farmed organically, with conversion completed in 2013, and have held Demeter-type biodynamic certification since 2020. Vineyard and cellar work follows a lunar calendar, with very low sulfur use. The estate works with varieties including Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, expressing a hands-on, family-led approach to farming and winemaking.
