SnowMountain Wines is a boutique South African producer founded in 2008 by winemaker, owner and proprietor James McKenzie. Originating in a private cellar in Wellington and now also based in Stellenbosch, it works with independent growers through long-term contracts across the Western Cape, including Wellington, Stellenbosch, Elgin and Swartland. The winery focuses on low-yielding, site-specific fruit and close cellar–grower relationships, seeking to express differences in altitude, soils and coastal or cool-climate influences. McKenzie brings 25 vintages of experience and follows a minimal-intervention approach using natural fermentations, traditional methods and restrained oak maturation. Its wines appear under several labels, including Snow Mountain, Klein Sneeuberg, Cameradi and The Artisan Collection.
