Founded in 1917, Portal da Calçada is one of the oldest Vinho Verde producers. This family-owned estate, now led by the third generation of the Calçada family, is based around the historic Quinta da Calçada vineyard in Amarante and also includes the Casa da Calçada luxury hotel. The estate produces still white, rosé and sparkling wines. Its wines are marketed under a sustainable designation, including a 2020 “Sustainable In Practice” recognition.
