Murdoch Hill is a family-run Adelaide Hills estate owned and operated by third-generation Downer brothers Michael and Andrew, whose family has overseen the business since 1939. Its vineyards in Erinka and Lenswood are managed organically, without herbicides or synthetic pesticides. The winery focuses on cool-climate varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, with wines expressing single-vineyard sites and the diverse sub-regions of the Adelaide Hills. Chief winemaker Michael Downer follows a minimal-intervention approach, using wild yeasts, gentle extraction and no additives.
