Founded in 1999 by oenologists Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve, Domaine Cosse-Maisonneuve is a jointly owned, family-run estate in Cahors, in southwest France. Its vineyards lie on gravel and clay soils on the third terrace above the Lot River and are certified organic, with biodynamic farming, manual work and occasional horse assistance. The domaine focuses on terroir-expressive Malbec wines, seeking a more refined expression of Cahors than its traditionally rustic image. Low yields, low-intervention winemaking and a respectful approach to nature define its artisanal style.
